JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – SAAB, a provider of world-leading products services and solutions within military defence and civil security to the Sub-Saharan Africa, has extended a contract to provide Third Party Maintenance (TPM) services to peacekeeping initiatives in Somalia over the next two years.
The extension follows an initial contract – signed in 2010 – and sees Saab expanding its support services for peacekeeping teams beyond Mogadishu, the Somalia capital city.
Saab has provided vehicle maintenance support to peacekeeping forces in Mogadishu since 2010, as well as servicing and maintaining a wide range of generators and other machinery essential to the success of these missions.
An impressive range of defence forces across the globe are using South African electronic warfare and avionics technology being designed and produced at Saab Grintek Defence facilities in South Africa.
Saab also has business units and local employees in Cape Town, South Africa, in Gaborone, Botswana and in Nairobi, Kenya.
