power market for about 30 years.Her impact during the period has been felt in Cameroon, Nigerian, South Africa and Tanzania.She was unable to attend her crowning moment in South Africa following knee surgery.Addressing delegates from the United Kingdom, she expressed her commitment to providing efficient power supply at affordable prices.Other prominent winners were GreenWish Partner, Charlotte Aubin-Kalaidjian (Outstanding Contribution Award: Power).Phillip Gichuki, Managing Director of Nairobi City Water and Sewerage clinched the Outstanding Contribution Award: Water. Rose Kaggwa is Woman of the Year: Power Water.She is Director of Business and Scientific Services at National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Uganda.Nigeria’s Fatima Oyiza Ademoh was recognised with the Young Energy Leader accolade for her role as founder and Chief Executive Officer of AjimaYouth Empowerment Foundation. Ethiopia Electric Power won the Power Utility of the Year.Malawi’s Lilongwe Water Board won Water Utility of the Year while South Africa’s Acwa Power was honoured with the Large Scale Renewable Energy Project for its Bokpoort power plant project.Renewable Energy Holdings clinched the Small-Scale Sustainable Energy Project award for its Stortemelk Hydro scheme.Solar Turtle, also from South Africa, won the Innovative Technology of the Year Award while Engie, the other local company nominated, won the Deal of the Year for a solar project in the local Northern Cape. Huawei were lead sponsors of the award that featured Zela de Grange, former aide of erstwhile South African president, Nelson Mandela.
